Two Types of COSHH Assessments Available
One of the most important features of this collection is that it goes beyond generic COSHH documentation.
The range is made up of two distinct types of assessment:
General COSHH Assessments — covering the broader hazards, substance categories and working practices found within aesthetic and clinical environments.
Product-Specific COSHH Assessments — covering individual products and substances used within the clinic, allowing documentation to be selected according to the products relevant to your business.
This creates a much more practical COSHH system, combining the principles of safe substance management with documentation relating to the actual products encountered in day-to-day clinic practice.
02
General COSHH Assessments
The general assessments provide a structured approach to managing hazardous substances across the clinic.
They consider substances associated with areas such as cleaning, disinfection, treatments, injectable substances, chemical agents, peels, aerosols and other products used during normal clinic operation.
The general framework considers key areas including identifying the substance, hazards and routes of exposure, risk level, control measures, actions required, storage, disposal, record keeping and review.
These assessments are particularly useful for establishing the clinic's overall approach to COSHH and substance safety.
03
Individual Product-Specific COSHH Assessments
The second part of the collection focuses on specific named products and substances.
Rather than simply having one generic assessment for a whole category, individual assessments provide information relevant to a particular product or substance.
The collection extends across categories including common chemicals and cleaning agents; injectables, actives and medical solutions; peels, acids and exfoliants; topical, numbing and skincare products; and conductive, cooling and contact gels.
04
Examples of Products & Substances Available
With over 200 COSHH assessments available, listing every individual assessment on the website would be impractical. Instead, the collection can be selected according to the substances and products relevant to your clinic.
Examples within the wider range include assessments for surface disinfectants and cleaning sprays, Dettol products, hydrogen peroxide and oxidising agents, isopropyl alcohol and other commonly used clinic chemicals, alongside treatment-related substances and products.
The wider library also covers areas such as injectables and medical solutions, chemical peels and acids, numbing and topical products, skincare preparations and treatment gels.
05
What Can an Individual COSHH Assessment Include?
Depending on the product or substance, an individual assessment can cover areas such as product description and intended use, composition and hazardous ingredients, hazard classification and identification, precautionary information, first-aid measures, firefighting considerations, accidental release measures, handling and storage requirements.
This provides a much more useful clinic reference than simply keeping a list of product names.
06
Tailored to the Products Used in Your Clinic
Not every clinic uses the same products, which is why the COSHH collection can be built around the products and substances relevant to your own business.
Whether your clinic uses cleaning and disinfection products, skincare preparations, chemical peels, numbing products, injectable-related substances or other treatment products, the aim is to provide the appropriate assessments from the 200+ COSHH options available.
This avoids filling your clinic file with large amounts of irrelevant documentation and creates a COSHH resource that better reflects what is actually used within your working environment.
07
Designed to Sit Alongside Manufacturer Safety Data Sheets
The COSHH documentation is designed as a working clinic reference and should be used alongside the current manufacturer Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the products used within the clinic. This requirement is specifically identified within the COSHH resource itself.
Manufacturer information can therefore be stored alongside the relevant assessment, helping create an organised COSHH file for each product or substance.
08
Personalised to Your Clinic
Your selected COSHH Data Assessments are professionally personalised and branded throughout, creating a cohesive set of documentation that matches your wider clinic compliance system.
Your completed assessments are supplied as high-quality PDFs directly by email.
For practical clinic use, we recommend printing and storing your COSHH documentation in a ring binder with protective pockets and divided sections, allowing new product assessments, current Safety Data Sheets and updated information to be added whenever your product range changes.
Important: Your documentation is tailored to the information you provide. Individual practitioners remain responsible for checking requirements applicable to their qualifications, insurer, treatments, premises and regulatory environment.
